She got her first star under George Bush.
This woman may be perfectly competent. But the odds suggest that shed maybe be a colonel still if she were a man.
The odds are against any officer making flag rank. If memory serves only 1 or 2 percent of all officers entering a military service will wear a star. But that's just for certain white guys. By your beliefs, the odds of any woman or minority making general are pretty much a done deal, right?
Also, that its extremely unusual to put a refueling specialist in charge of a military mission like this.
You are aware, are you not, that the Air Force Chief of Staff, General Schwartz, was a C-130 pilot his whole flying career? A 'trash hauler' as the expression goes? Not a fighter jock? Yet he's runnig the whole shootin' match. Affirmative action promotion as well?
Weve seen what happens when they are desperate to have woman pilots. The result has been that a higher than average number of women pilots have crashed their planes or had other problems.
I would be very interested in seeing the statistics you have that support that claim.
Women have been flying combat missions in the Air Force and the Navy for years now. We still manage to make things go 'boom' when needed.
Gays and females allowed to serve is a leftist idea to degrade our forces.
Gee, there have been women in the military for generations. Those leftists move slow.
Sally fields is full of crap. Have you seen women fight each other? When I was kid, some of my best friends were guys I had previously fought at one time or another. Most women rarely forgive or forget.
Joint Air Operations Planners are still taught the Warden/Deptula campaign as the standard...
In my honest opinion:
1. All generals and admirals directly involved in the Libya action who refused to stand up and question Obama’s authority to issue “offensive” strike orders should immediately be issued their last paycheck and DD-214
2. All generals and admirals not directly involved in the Libya action who refused to stand up and question the same should be written up and put on notice that their careers are in jeopardy for not demonstrating the leadership required of them as commissioned officers.
3. All Captains and Colonels should be put on immediate notice that promotion in rank and job duties is imminent with an included warning and statements regarding the Constitution of the United States of America.
Would would do this? Tough call in terms of one person. However, Congress could certainly start cancelling and recalling budgets - and do the same for selected paychecks and benefits.
=8-)
I want a military that understands without reserve that they serve both the Constitution AND a C-in-C who respects the same.

I must admit that it’s kind of cool to have a woman bombing Muzzies, Karma is a bitch.
I used to work with a woman that was a retired Lt. Colonel in the Army...she may have had some extra help on the way because she was a woman but I have a feeling she earned her promotions just like any guy had....she was a smart no nonsense more than capable leader....
Just answer the question!
“she’s a Major General.”
Yes! Yes! She is a major general...
She is the very model of a modern Major-General,
She has information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
She knows the kings of England, and she quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical;
She’s very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,
She understands equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem she’s teeming with a lot o’ news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse....

Gotta agree with you. Women and warfare? Not their field!
Regardless of her gender, her flying experience, and her formal education, she still has more talent, experience, and integrity than her “commander in chief.” (no caps intentional).
I believe I did so I'll ask one in return. Once you have excluded all the women from the military who do you replace them with? You?
Is that how lowly you think of us? Well good, I'm glad to have that out in the open. I prefer to know who our allies are and who are the pretenders.
is she an AF Academy grad?
1. All female or mixed male female units take disproportionally high casualties as women try to “prove” themselves or men try to protect the women.
2. There are morale problems for both sexes when women are killed and dismembered or burned horribly as the result of combat action.
3. Women are simply not as strong as the men to do the really strenuous “grunt” work in the field. This can and has affected the ability to complete missions. Also, women have specific hygiene needs in the field that men don't have, and this can be a problem.
Other problems noted in American mixed-gender deployments:
4. Women often exercise the “option” of pregnancy the men don't have. In the American military, forward deployed females are sent to shore stations away from combat until the child is born. They are NOT replaced within the squadron, unit, or ship's company, so the work load on the remaining personnel is increased.
5. Morale problems caused by fraternization, preferential treatment (or accusation of), petty jealousies, and sexual harassment (both ways).
6. Intentional “fast-tracking” of women and minorities into high ranking officer ranks. Part of this is “ticket-punching” for these individuals by assigning them to combat slots they may not be ready for (too soon) or for purely PC reasons. Notice that the big push for females in combat slots (to qualify faster for higher grades) is preached by female officers and PC politicians. Most of them have ever heard shots fired in anger. Enlisted female service members usually do not desire or want combat assignments as a means to promotion.
“Women wage war compassionately.”
History would disagree. Certainly, Irish history would. Maggy Thatcher had to prop poor George up during GW I.
I hope she’s competent.
I’ve done my time. And it wasn’t with the new Casterotie.
By the way, if you think you have answered the question then what was the improvement????
