Can you imagine a lifetime spent allowing risk minimization to rule all your decisions? No scars, no pain, no way to develop that inner reserve that growls when you're in agony and yet on fire to get in there and succeed anyway, that burning in your bones be damned? Kids raised this hyper-effiminate way today will have no sense of overcoming obstacles or dealing with physical pain, because they will never have endured any. At the first sign of trouble, they'll only know how to leave and play something else. Imagine the leaders in our grand-childrens' years. Lord help us all.
I still relish, and can almost feel, the most vicious hit I ever took. (Was in a ruby game, actually, LOL. I wish I knew where that guy is today so I can buy him a round every once in a while.)
I loathe those who would deny such memories to others because they are too afraid themselves. Women simply don't understand physical pain. They are master's of dealing the far more damaging and more permanent kind of pain, so I guess they just don't need it in their arsenal, and hope to remove it from ours. %#!@*&
(What's that? How did you know I got blind-sided by the love of my life recently? You psychic?)
(See, it's happening to me already... Instead of "rugby", it's ruby already! Aiiigh!!)
