PETA is beyond weird. They aren’t asking for humane treatment of animals; they are demanding that humans cease from any “use” of animals. This means animals for meat, fur, milk, burden carriers, or pets. Someone didn’t get the memo to the wild kingdom packed with predators and prey, to be sure, but consistency isn’t one of PETA’s strong points.

Anyhow, if public health laws require bovine milk offered for general sale to be screened or pasteurized (specialty raw milk aficionados aside), why not this stuff?

Why not pasturize? Because humans in first world countries rarely have brucellosis or typhoid. ON the other hand it might be wise for donors to be tested for tuberculosis and have a general checkup.
