I wouldn't want us to return to the age of the corset ...

The author seems not to understand that the corset was personal torture in the service of generating male lust. Think of it as a Victorian equivalent of 4-inch heels.

I always thought corsets served a dual purpose as waist cinchers and something to hold the spine together for all the hard work women had to do back then...
