Sen. Scott Brown, R-MA, is one of the only Senate Republicans who favor legal abortion. So todays news that he will vote to keep tax money for Planned Parenthood is not shocking, but it is still disappointing.
Catholics, especially in Massachusetts, can let their voices be heard by calling Senator Browns office at (202) 224-4543.
Heres the statement that Senator Brown issued today:
I support family planning and health services for women. Given our severe budget problems, I dont believe any area of the budget is completely immune from cuts, he said. However, the proposal to eliminate all funding for family planning goes too far. As we continue with our budget negotiations, I hope we can find a compromise that is reasonable and appropriate.
Except it isnt reasonable or appropriate to give this notorious organization another dime.
DEFEAT RINOS IN PRIMARIES AND RATS IN REGULAR ELECTIONS!!!
He undermines the entire conservative platform because in newspeak Republican = CONSERVATIVE.
One termer who will have damaged the R’s in Mass. beyond measure.
I try to make this point but there are those here who would have preferred Marsha Coakley. It's not about the better choice it's about electing a Texas Republican in Mass. Won't happen but you can't convince some folks.
Because he's not a conservative and doesn't claim to be one. He voted against Kagan, for Patriot Act Renewals, and to repeal Obama care just last month. Do you really think you'd have gotten any of those votes out of Martha Coakley or Ted Kennedy?
Those are your alternatives.
This isn't PA or AZ we're talking about kicking out an Arlen Specter or John McCain and replace him with Pat Toomey or a John Kyl type. It's Massachusetts.
I remember when a bunch of FReepers were touting him for the White House.
What a disgrace
Checked Google and found out Scott belongs to the Christian Reformed Church. Questioned their feelings on abortion and found out that they DO NOT support abortions and are tasked to do everything in their power to stop this atrocity.
Guess he doesn’t listen to his Church Leaders either.
Count me as one of the few who did not like him from the beginning, of course his opponent was the spawn of Satan.
Gee, just what would a Moooslum do? Yea!, They would call - Wrong ans. Ya get my drift.
He voted against Kagan, for Patriot Act Renewals, and to repeal Obama care just last month. Do you really think you’d have gotten any of those votes out of Martha Coakley or Ted Kennedy?
No I don’t think that a dem would vote for those items you presented. However, why couldn’t he AT LEAST vote no on this one.....I mean come on murder?????
Aren’t there any pro-aborts who don’t think the government should be paying for it??
I am not voting for any RINO’s in the general election.
Scott Brown clearly isn’t perfect. Let’s show ‘em who’s boss and put in someone in his seat who vote against conservative Supreme Court nominees who would vote to overturn Roe v Wade, who would vote to spend trillions on national health care and make-work projects.
I’m really concerned that the Catholics no longer support anti-abortion candidates. They vote very heavily for Democrats.
I doubt this will change their minds about Brown.
It’s really useless to fret over a rino like Scott Brown. Just as it is useless to fret over Leftist states like MA. Conservatives should ignore him and concentrate on getting conservative Republicans elected in conservative states.
What a POS.
Ahem, uh, Senator Brown, you lowlife, women can obtain family planning and health services through their primary care providers. They really can. I’ve done it myself. My PCP gives me regular “well woman” checkups and if I wanted it, all the birth control I could ever ask for, although I’ver never used it.
It’s just that you can’t get abortions at your primary care provider. Have to go to PP for that.
You and I know that, but to the majority of the folks in MA, abortion is like a Sacrament.
That's who elected him, that's who his friends and neighbors are. It's a sick world out there, liberalism is a culture of death.
Look, if someone better comes along, who has any chance of being viable, I'll absolutely support them, but I don't see it happening.
So he`s pro-death, too. What again was the last conservative stand he made?
Shocked I tell you. Shocked.
