BRAZIL AND THE UNITED STATES AS GLOBAL PARTNERS

Noting the interdependence among peace, security and development, President Rousseff and President Obama reaffirmed their desire to build a just and inclusive world order, which promotes democracy, human rights and social justice.

....They welcomed the strengthening of the collaboration on environment and climate change, including under the Common Agenda on Environment and the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Regarding Climate Change, and agreed to include in the Common Agenda a discussion on the concept of green economy.

They agreed on the importance of a green economy in the context of sustainable development as a means for generating economic growth, creating decent jobs, eradicating poverty and protecting the environment. In this sense, they agreed to initiate a dialogue on a joint initiative on urban sustainability cooperation which will serve as a platform for actions addressing the challenges and opportunities of developing urban infrastructure that promotes sustainable development with concrete economic, social and environmental benefits.

....They agreed that Brazil’s experience in constructing a successful model of democratic development could be useful to countries in the process of building their own democracies and addressing historic social inequities. In this regard, President Obama applauded Brazil’s success in fashioning policies and programs to fight poverty, inequality, and marginalization. President Rousseff welcomed the possibility of enhancing international cooperation activities by replicating Brazilian best practices in social development.

The leaders stressed the shared commitment to promote and protect human rights and to support the consolidation of democracy around the world. In keeping with the Inter-American Democratic Charter, they reaffirmed that democracy is essential to political, economic, and social development. They reiterated that the values of liberty, equality, and social justice are intrinsic to democracy, and that the promotion and protection of human rights is a basic prerequisite for the existence of a democratic society.

The Presidents decided to work closely to enhance global food security. They highlighted the importance of the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program as an innovative multilateral mechanism to finance country-led agriculture plans. President Rousseff emphasized Brazil’s willingness to provide leadership on international food issues, including at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The Presidents welcomed the achievements of the 2008 Joint Action Plan to Eliminate Racial and Ethnic Discrimination and Promote Equality, encompassing issues pertaining to justice and public safety, labor relations, health, education and environmental fairness, with the engagement of the civil society and the private sector in combating discrimination.

President Rousseff and President Obama expressed their satisfaction with the status of the relationship between Brazil and the United States as global partners, fully committed to establishing an international world order that is more democratic, fair and sustainable. In this context, the Brazilian President accepted an invitation to visit the United States in the second half of 2011.

".....Dilma Rousseff is the daughter of an exiled Bulgarian Communist Party activist and a wealthy Brazillian ranching family, Rousseff joined Marxist anti-government guerillas in the 1960s in armed struggle against the then military government.

Taught Marxism in high school, Rousseff joined several revolutionary groups as a young woman, including Command of National Liberation (COLINA).

In early 1969, the police invaded the group’s house and the militants responded by using a machine gun, which killed two policemen and wounded another.

Dilma went underground, later participating in the formation of the Revolutionary Armed Vanguard Palmares. After that group split , Dilma was sent to Sao Paolo , where she was charged with guarding the groups weapons-which she hid under bed.........

....In March 2010, leading Communist Party USA member Emile Schepers, writing in the Peoples World, observed that “the the Rousseff victory in powerful and wealthy Brazil will be very welcome to the Latin American left and working class.” He also stated that Rousseff’s victory will continue the policies of the wildly popular former President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, “including the push for the horizontal integration of Latin American economies to make them less dependent on their relationships with the United States.”

In July this year Schepers wrote again on the upcoming Brazil election. Speaking of foreign policy, he stated “at stake is whether Brazil will continue on a progressive and independent course, or whether it will be brought back in line with U.S. desires.” and later on, “Brazil also annoyed the United States by joining with Turkey in trying to come up with a peaceful solution to the issue of Iran’s nuclear policy.”

“In foreign policy, Brazil, under the leadership of Lula… has played a bold role that has been applauded by left-wing governments such as those of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador.”

The election of Rousseff has served to strengthen the “Lula”/Cuban instigated “Red Tide” that has swept most of Latin America.

U.S. patriots would do well to keep an eye on their southern neighbor, and ensure that their own U.S. legislators do not cave in to whatever socialist foreign policy agendas Dilma Rousseff and her new government may propose. [end excerpt] Source

I'm wondering when...IF, the main stream media will get around to reporting the strange agreement between Osama/Obama and a Brazil oil drilling company....it pertains to an UNDERSEA , huge storage tank to be placed in the Gulf ...you remember, the same Gulf that Obama made the oil well drillers pull up stakes and get out of after the BP spill, and since then, I think there is one permit which has been allowed there. Does that seem odd to you, when Osama/Obama gave as the reason for shooing everyone out of the Gulf area, that there was always a possibility...a risk of a leak. I don't know about you, but the thought of having a underwater storage tank out in the middle of the Gulf seems pretty risky to me....and considering the state of our gas prices now....I can't help but think there is a ulterior motive behind all this that is quite deliberate. Of course who ever reported this on the radio may have been mistaken, but since our main stream media is in the back pocket of the current administration and covers for them in any way they can...I'm wondering if anyone else has picked up on this??? Perhaps it's not true, but how would we know?

I think there is one permit which has been allowed there.

My understanding is that "one" permit is for a rig that was permitted and operating when the spill took place. ZERO new permits have been issued since the spill. Not only that but the EPA shut down significant new refining capacity in Texas, at which point the governor of Texas refused to accept what the EPA commanded. Yes, he is deliberately scuttling the U.S. oil industry, the U.S. coal industry and the U.S. natural gas industry to make us more dependent on his buddies the foreign producers.

NOW, he has arranged a 10 BILLION dollar loan from the Export/Import Bank for Brazil to establish a huge off-shore oil field. There is no way to mistake his intent. He is a Lying Commie Muzzie Traitor. That is if he is even a U.S. Citizen. (that has not yet been proven)
