The point being is that the emotions of the moment rue the Arab world. They are dependable for nothing and any “alliance” the Western powers may have with them is always fleeting on their part. Basically a culture with the maturity of a five year old.

You've made some good points — especially about the fleeting alliances. I was referring to the war between civilizations; in particular, the 1,300 year long battle to establish a world caliphate. If that isn't steadfast, nothing is. By comparison, westerners (particularly N. Americans) are almost completely ahistorical. Our attention span barely exceeds the cable TV news cycle. Q’Daffy probably figures his best chance is to simply buy time — recent history shows that the ‘west’ soon sours on military (mis)adventures.
