I have been saying this for a long time as well. I just wonder if it will result in a total societal melt down? If so, then these people with all their gold may be in trouble too. They can't eat and drink their gold.
Gold if for optimists and people with personal morality.
It assumes that you will continue to act in accordance with you beliefs in not violating others rights. Voluntary trade is the signature of a society of free men. Those holding gold and silver are optimistically hoping that we can retain, or return to, this ideal after a fall.
Most people I know who hold silver or gold also are 'preppers' in that they are stockpiling everything from medicine to bulk food to ammunition.
We have two interoperating cartels that I have organized. The inner-ring is those who are really serious and we cooperate on bulk acquisitions of things. We also have plans to retreat to a common location in the event of total system failure, with our extended families, who are slowly (according to their congnative ability) being brought into the plan.
The outer-circle is being given information about what is happening, and the opportunity to get involved in cartel group buys, but isn't part of the retreat plan.
It was a difficult process to decide who to include, much of it was based on perceived political views. While I have liberal friends, I resent that they are destroying our civilization, and feel it would be immoral to help save them. They are part of what must go through the fire of the coming chaos living their belief in government, multiculturalism, gun-free living and all their other libtarded ideas.
I know one fellow who's total plan for failure is to buy guns. I've tried to point out to him that implicitly this means he plans on becoming an outlaw to take the things he isn't prepping around. He did not disagree.
These are my thoughts on accumulating gold (or, silver really in my case).
