Give the lady a little slack until you know all the facts.
I watched the entire Sarah Palin speech and Q & A and she was responding to a question, when she said it's time, but she went on to say, that she was raised so that gender wasn't considered, that the girls and guys were treated the same.
There was no hint of her wanting "special treatment" because she had bigger balls than any of the wimpy bois in the pubbie party.
So true! Give the lady who happens to be a female which if she wins the Presidency would be making history as the first woman to be a female President ever... oh and she's a conservative too.
If she had said that it is time that gender is no longer a factor in determining the President of the United States, then that's correct. But the statement "It's time a woman became President of the United States" is simply not the same. We can give her some slack and make the conclusion that she was indicating her belief that the playing field is leveled, that a woman can just as easily be elected as a man.
But that's not the statement she made. She said "It's time", making it clear that that a woman should in fact be elected now. Such a statement presumes that America should be looking for a woman, and not someone whose principles should be the most important factor.
