Sgt. Sarver wrote in a declaration: 'Defendants have essentially placed a bulls-eye on the back of my army uniform/bomb suit for my current and future deployments.'
Sgt. Sarver signed his declaration in an undisclosed location in Afghanistan, where he is currently deployed.
He claims he never gave screenwriter Mark Boal permission to use personal details in a story he did for a Playboy magazine article titled 'The Man in the Bomb Suit,' and that their inclusion in the story and 'The Hurt Locker' have hurt his reputation.
Mr Boal was embedded with Sgt. Sarver's unit in 2004.
Sgt. Sarver claims Mr Boal wanted to stay with him exclusively because he didn't trust other bomb techs.
The film, which won six Oscars in 2009, follows a team of army bomb disposal experts in Iraq as they battle to carry out their jobs in extremely testing circumstances.
The film's main character, Sergeant First Class William James, is portrayed as a reckless and unhinged soldier who uses techniques that are the opposite of proper bomb-disposal procedure.

I am sympathetic to the guy, but I don’t see a case here.
It was a good movie but it made the “hero” of the movie out to be insane and dangerous to himself and others on his team. It was the typical modern Hollywood view of people in the military.
