Sodexo USA Files RICO Lawsuit Against SEIU
Services Leader Seeks to End SEIU's Campaign of Extortion
Posted on: Thursday, 17 March 2011, 17:54 CDT
GAITHERSBURG, Md., March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ - Sodexo USA today filed a civil lawsuit against the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and other defendants under the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, to stop the illegal campaign of extortion that the SEIU has been waging in the U.S. for over a year.
**SNIP**
The complaint alleges that the SEIU, in face to face meetings, threatened Sodexo USA's executives that it would harm Sodexo USA's business unless they gave in to the union, and then carried out its threats through egregious behavior, including:
- throwing plastic roaches onto food being served by Sodexo USA at a high profile event;
- scaring hospital patients by insinuating that Sodexo USA food contained bugs, rat droppings, mold and flies;
- lying to interfere with Sodexo USA business and sneaking into elementary schools to avoid security;
- violating lobbying laws to steer business away from Sodexo USA, even at the risk of costing Sodexo USA employees their jobs; and
- harassing Sodexo USA employees by threatening to accuse them of wrongdoing.

SEIU will ship in protestors to the courtroom and refuse to clean the bathrooms.
The same tactics that the Obama administration is using against the states that are threatening to impose a Birth Certificate law for the next election.
some threats simply need to be addressed more directly....
Why is this being exposed only in some unknown, for the most part, source? Why isn’t at least the FNN talking about it?
No worries mate...Eric Holder will put the kibosh on that real quick like...
As a Civil suit, the Justice Department could take it but if they choose not to do so, it continues without them. More than likely, they will file friends of the court briefings for SEIU!
SEIU’s extortion of Sodexo is about their turf war with UNITE-HERE, another union.
The 2 unions have had vocal confrontations here in Pittsburgh over which should represent what employers and I understand its nationwide.
Gonna be lotta broken legs around Sodexo HQ. But good for them.
If I’m not mistaken, Sodexo is the catering arm of Marriott.
Sorry, Sodexo is NOT an arm of Marriott. It’s a multi-national corp headquartered in France.
That said, their attorneys chose to file suit in the Eastern District of Virginia ... very smart move. The ED-VA is known as the “rocket docket” because they don’t spend a lot of time delaying as most courts do .. they just move! And, if it goes to trial, Sodexo is more likely to find a sympathetic jury than they’d find in MD.
I hope they bankrupt the SEIU.
Pretty brave move considering who owns the justice dept.
I still don’t see the TV news networks, or any major newspapers reporting it........unless CNBC could be called “major”, but I don’t thing a lot of people watch it.
that is what I like about FR. There is always someone out there to give good factual information. Thanks
They are a bunch of thugs.
“Sodexo USA has filed the lawsuit seeking to halt the SEIU’s extortionate threats and barrage of unlawful tactics. The complaint alleges acts of SEIU blackmail, vandalism, trespass, harassment, and lobbying law violations designed to steer business away from Sodexo USA and harm the company.”
I only wish that some state attorney general or federal prosecutor would recognize the illegal vote/lobbying/election fraud that SEIU has been behind. In WA State, SEIU was recently convicted of fraudulently creating false voter signatures on a state initiative. The political solution proposed by the democrats......make it illegal to pay petition gatherers (unless they belong to a union and are supporting democrats).
SEIU is corrupt and in violation of RICO, someone just needs to get the facts before the right judge/jury.
things are starting to get interesting
