When Bill Clinton officially began his post-presidency in Harlem in 2001, he was greeted with open arms — thousands of them. At a plaza near his new office, at 55 West 125th Street, a crowd of 2,000 residents and civic leaders gathered on a hot July afternoon to celebrate the arrival of a neighbor whose presence, two blocks from the landmark Apollo Theater, seemed to put a presidential stamp of approval on the neighborhood’s revival.
In his speech there in 2001, Mr. Clinton said, “Harlem always struck me as a place that was human and alive, where there was a rhythm to life and a song in the heart, where no matter how bad it was, people held up their heads and went on, and where, when things got good, people were grateful and cared about their neighbors.”
Nearly 10 years later, Mr. Clinton is leaving Harlem. Or, at least part of him is.
The William J. Clinton Foundation is moving most of its offices from Harlem to 77 Water Street in the financial district, in Lower Manhattan. But Mr. Clinton will keep a toehold in Harlem: his office as a former president will remain on the top floor of 55 West 125th Street.

Apparently he’s done his time proving he was the first black President, so he’s packing it up and moving to Manhattan.
The folks in Harlem served their purpose for Billy, as they do for all democrat politicians. Now he’ll go hang out with his cocktail buddies, not that he doesn’t have every right to do so.

I wonder how much of vacating Harlem is due to him being “racist” for daring to speak out about Obama’s actual level of accomplishment during the primaries? An accusation which has been carried straight over to the Tea Party and anyone else who has dared to challenge The One or even hint that his presidency has been less-than-successful.

Harlem is a neighborhood in Manhattan, on the far North end of the island; the financial district is on the far South of the same island.

One of the principal principles of Conservatism is that we are all individuals. Thus, no “ALL Blacks,” no all Irish, no all left-handers, no all men, no all women, no anything are alike. We are individuals.
He turned white? He doesn’t have to be black anymore?
If Billy’s not black anymore, will he stop hitting on ugly white women?
Run that by me again. He's renting new digs for the Foundation, but he's continuing the lease on the Harlem space?
