Makes ya wonder why they aren’t allowed to be there at all at times, and why they have fire trucks lined up, disperse their water and leave immediately, then the next one can come in and do the same, doesn’t it? Fox said because they can’t be there only long enough to disperse the water, and they are clad in iron protection and special gear to protect themselves, or try to anyway.

Managing radiation exposures is not stupid. Why should an empty fire tank truck hang around looking at the scenery?

I would guess that things could get much worse, and you don’t want all your available workers already maxed out.

Plus, it has been fluctuating wildly, and they know there’s a source of radiation so a quick change of wind could send significant higher dosages at the workers.
