Anyone other than me getting the impression that we have been had by GOP "Leadership" in the US House? I am having this sinking feeling as of late.
Pumpkin pie!
WOULDN’T BE THE FIRST TIME.
No kidding? If they were serious about defunding things like Public Broadcasting, they would have put that into the CR and given the Socialists in the Senate no choice but to shut down the government or go along with the defunding. This vote waas a slap in the face to any conservative that pays attention.
Yep looks like we are back to the 2005-2006 days.
We can TRUST the Rats, THIS time.
Take your choice.
I don’t feel had or let down.
....because my expectations were nonexistent.
They are drifting left again and this will really make the Tea Party come alive this time.
Can’t agree with “been had”. How about double crossed, betrayed, sold out, lied to, scorned, ignored, and an olde favorite, hornswoggled? Any of those fit?
I'm not disappointed. I never had any confidence in the House leadership. Career politicians looking out for themselves.
Let’s just say that the 2010 elections were just the first step. Remember, ALL the Republicans are on probation. If they don’t pass muster, we can kick them out in the primaries. In 2012, there are 20 Democrat Senate seats up for grabs. If the GOP can get 20 Tea Party GOP Senators, along with dozens of other Tea Party GOP House members, they’ll be a powerful weapon for President Sarah Palin to bring America back to being a Superpower.
Sure enough! If we had only been able to keep Pelosi as Speaker we’d be much better off.
That Boehner tricked us into the vote to repeal Obamacare that couldn’t pass the Senate anyway. Boehner tricked us into getting NPR defunded. yadayada.
If only we still had Pelosi in charge. /s
I don’t exactly put it that way, but I used to use a “bus driver” analogy even before Urkel was elected that I refined after his election as follows:
Replacing D’s with R’s is like voting in a new crew on the Titanic AFTER it hit the iceberg. It might have a small impact on how we man the lifeboats, but the ship is going down, there are not enough lifeboats, and the water is very cold.
It is why I bought my small farm in central KY two weeks before Urkel was elected. The government is not the solution. They are the problem. It is up to me.
Too bad we the people don’t get to pick the speaker. We need someone that eats nails for breakfast and we have someone that always needs a tissue.
They have always been two-faced, lying, gutless, unprincipled, and stupid. So no, they are behaving pretty much as I expected them to.
Its been a while since I heard that.... I think the source where I heard it first was a Warner Brothers cartoon?
Thanks for the belly laugh!
Generally, expect politicians to favor whatever gives them more power, regardless of their professed ideology. The refusal to defund Obama/Romney/BoehnerCare and NPR simply fits within this expectation.
yep!
I posted a thread the other day trying to get folks to call about the continuing resolution.
It occurred to me that the ‘critters’ can spin the number of calls they receive and what people are saying. They can NOT spin what is posted on their facebook pages.
I plan to be prepared to encourage calls prior to the budget vote.
Enough is enough...
I told Boehner’s office the other day that it’s sad when the women in office have more, shall we say , spine? than the men do.
IMO:
1) the GOP has too many RINO’s
2) It will take a couple election cycles to weed them out and replace with Tea Party backed conservatives
3) We are in a long war with the left along with their cousins, The RINO’s. 2010 was just one battle and the 2011 budget is yet another battle.
4) We must take a page from the left and back our good conservatives like Allen West etc RELIGIOUSLY.
5) This congress is still out gunned by the left in the senate and the RINO’s in congress but they are doing what they can. They must hold ground until 2012 when more reinforcements arrive.
6) There will be setbacks but we must maintain pressure and keep the faith.
JMO...
Their loss. It just means that they will be kicked to the curb in 2012. This is their very last chance to smell the roses, and it’s pretty clear that they are unable to do so.
It was clear even during the 2010 election, when they did their best to undermine conservatives and throw races to the Democrats. Obviously they felt they could work better at pork guzzling with Harry Reid than with those Tea Partiers whom they deliberately sabotaged.
