Allen West to birthers: focus on Obama policies instead
Palm Beach Post ^ | February 23rd, 2011 | by George Bennett

West speaks to a crowd of about 400 at Tuesday night's town hall meeting in Jupiter.

JUPITER — Toward the end of a 90-minute audience Q&A session at Tuesday night’s town hall meeting, U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Plantation, was asked by former Indian Trail Improvement District board member Christopher Karch whether President Obama is “legally there or not.”

“Who is going to tell us who this man is? Is he legally there or not?” said Karch. “What are we going to do to ensure that, if he isn’t legally there, it doesn’t happen again?”

Said West: “I will tell you this: That is the dog chasing its tail. The most important thing is, it’s the policies. That’s what we have to be standing on.”

The crowd of about 400 applauded, but Karch wasn’t satisfied.

“But if he’s not, it’s treason,” Karch said.

Said West: “You will waste more time worrying yourself to death about that instead of making sure that you expand the majority in the House of Representatives, you win back the U.S. Senate so that you can stand against the policies that are emanating out of the White House…

“What is your objective? Your objective is getting back to a constitutional republic principles and values. If you spend your time worrying about someone’s citizenship, you will never get to that objective.”

West didn’t offer his own opinion on Obama’s citizenship during the public forum. So PostOnPolitics asked him after the meeting.

“He is a citizen. He’s the president. I mean, that’s all I know. I am concerned about his policies,” West said.

We can’t do anything about Obama. That is a lost cause.
If there is evidence of his ineligibility, it may be possible to get him after he’s out of office, provided that he’s not someplace where the US cannot extradite.

Once he is gone, the constitution could be amended, so whatever loophole that was found that Soros and ilk was able to use to get Obama into office could be closed.

But it is a waste of time now, when there is so much else to focus on.

They have sworn to defend the Constitution. They have not sworn to add things in so that it can be interpreted the way they want in order to defend it that way.

It is your way of thinking that shows why many “Constitutionalists” dont really want to follow the Constitution, but want to treat it as a living document, and thus lose credibility for anyone trying to preserve the Constitution.

Well, its good when you run out of ideas and resort to answering questions with questions that you still have the capacity to try using insults as a debate mechanism.

Bullhockey. All it will take to provide a backstop is for one or several states to pass a bill requiring provision of documented proof of natural born Citizen status in order to qualify for the presidential ballot.

But REPUBLICAN "leaders" are blocking that from happening in state after state after state.

So quit BS'ing us like something is going to be done when the false flag fake conservative Republicans, even those who are supposedly the best of the lot like Congressman West, are making it clear that they intend to do NOTHING to assure the people of this country that the Constitution is being respected and followed.

Because “health of the mother” is a red herring that means different things to different people and means BS to me.

Thanks for sharing your opinion and pushing the meme hard.

If there is evidence of his ineligibility, it may be possible to get him after he’s out of office, provided that he’s not someplace where the US cannot extradite.
So if it's proven after he's out of office that he wasn't eligible wouldn't all of the bills he signed into law still be invalid?
What I don't understand is why you wouldn't want to stop him dead in his tracks now before more harm can be done?

But it is a waste of time now, when there is so much else to focus on.
I tell you, that meme is no more effective than the previous dozen have been. Try again. It's old.

In the beginning, everything seemed like it was coming out of left field. As time goes by, I’ve come to realize that with this one, everything is on the table. We have no idea who our president is, where he comes from or how this is going to end (though we can safely rule out “well”).

Hell of time to be alive, ain’t it?

You keep fighting that point, and losing, while the other Republicans are fighting to ensure the US government doesn’t go over the financial cliff.

What a load of nonsense. You’re turning the Constitution on its head, and pretending that words don’t mean what they mean.

You’ve made it clear: You don’t believe anyone is responsible for defending or upholding the Constitution.

That, sir, is the destruction of our free republic. The sacrificing of liberty on the altar of perceived short-term political expediency.

The politicians who think like you do are more worried about a little ridicule than they are about being able to stand before God having kept the promises they made to Him.

Where did I insult you?

Do they still cane people in Indonesia?? Considering this is the last place of which he seems to have evidence of citizenship, maybe he can be deported there.

BTW, “whose fathers are criminals” is also a tapdancing bit on your part. It’s not as if I’m talking about bankrobbers or drug smugglers who get knock up their girlfriends. I’m talking kidnap and rape - the most grotesque P’sOS on the planet. And its OK with you for them to choose your daughter to for their evil spawn?

Yeah, right. The ship is sinking and they're still fighting over how to arrange the deck chairs. And still ignoring the requirements of the Constitution on virtually every front, including spending.

It’s barbaric to butcher an innocent child for the sins of their father. I don’t know why you have a hard time comprehending that.

Where did I say no one is responsible for upholding the Constitution? I have said nothing close to that. I said nothing in the Constitution instructs anyone to determine whether the President is eligible.

You are reacting emotionally and skipping facts that dont suit you.

Because the “sins of the father” that are forgivable do not include choosing my wife or my daughters to procreate. WHat effin part of freedom do you not understand?
