Last week the House Energy & Power Subcommittee marked up H.R. 910, the Energy Tax Prevention Act. Today, the full House Energy & Commerce Committee will mark up the bill.
Opponents, especially Reps. Waxman, Markey, and Inslee, viciously attacked the bill last Thursday. Their arguments are reviewed in detail at the blog GlobalWarming.Org.
The post concludes with this summary of the Waxman-Markey-Inslee argument as follows:
We know what is good for America and the world. Its a future without fossil fuels. We cant persuade the peoples representatives to support our agenda and turn it into law. Therefore, it is necessary for EPA to implement our agenda regardless of the defeat of cap-and-trade, the November 2011 elections, and the separation of powers. Our agenda is more important than any constitutional principle that might interfere with it.
The question on limiting of the breadth of power of the EPA to have control over the future of the United States energy policy is one of the most important debates of our time.
h/t to Marlo Lewis
ping!
Defund the EPA.
Ed Markey is so stupid that my dog could beat him in an i.q. test, Kerry would be gone in the first ten questions.
Some people are just born stupid.
A clique of Marxists who will never let facts and good judgement get in the way of their socialist ideology. Hopefully they will not see a majority in Congress for years to come.
sickening. they are moral reprobates.
There is talk in Washington State that Jay Inslee may run for Governor Christine Gregoire’s seat in 2012. God help Washington State if this Marxist wins the governorship.
“Our agenda is more important than any constitutional principle that might interfere with it.”
This quote ought to be accepted as the standard definition of American liberalism for all political science textbooks.
Thanks for the h/t for the blog GlobalWarming.Org! Terrific info.
It appears these dimwits have stated they intend to willingly disregard the Constitution. Does this mean they have broken their oath of office?
No. They are Democrats. They not only mean well, they have superior goals and values. It is more important that they win and prevail than anything else, including that old outdated piece of paper that modern people cannot even read.
Since they are Democrats and have superior agendas born out of compassion for the Earth and the children, they can say and do whatever it takes to win. Winning for Democrats is a higher goal and a better value than anything else. /s
