Why do we do crap like this?

Why do we keep giving them passes?

- We give Wisconsin fleebaggers a pass.
- Boner gives the dems and president a pass today.
- We let people like William Jefferson essentially off the hook when caught red handed.
- Bush allowed himself to be blamed for the mess in Louisiana after Katrina when we know that local democraps refused federal help until too late.

When a Pubbie does something perceived or actually, they yap and clamor until the Pubbie folds or gets subsumed, think Scooter Libby.

We, as a free people, suck. Pubbie “leadership” sucks.

Hoping for a miracle that Fitzgerald and Ellis read this thread on FR and change their minds and reverse their decision.

“Slow to anger and plentiful in mercy” works for the Almighty but doesn’t work in politics.

This is a repeated bit of Republican insanity that needs to be questioned.

A good analogy is a man walking on a city sidewalk. Suddenly a mugger jumps out from an alley and charges him, screaming, “I’m going to kill you! Die! Die! Die!” But the man sidesteps him, and nails him with a good shot to the chops.

“Owwww!,” the mugger screams. “You hit me! No fair!”

Just then a police officer shows up. The mugger screams to him, “That guy hit me! I was just minding my own business when he tried to kill me, screaming hate-filled, racist things at me!”

But the police officer recognizes the mugger as a mugger, so is placing him under arrest, when the Republican man tells the officer, “Don’t arrest him. Can’t you see he’s not in his right mind? I walk down this street a lot, and this is only the tenth or twentieth time he has attacked me. I would just be better if you let him go. I’ll give him a few dollars, and maybe he’ll stop being so obnoxious and offensive!”

Hopefully, the officer, who represents a conservative in all of this, has had enough of these antics so tells the Republican to “stop trying to get along with people who hate you and want to destroy you.”

“You have to realize,” the officer concludes, “that trying to be reasonable with unreasonable, irrational, and offensive people simply does not work. He will never give you a fair chance, but always demands that you give him one. And it’s not just you. By continuing to give him breaks, you are making life miserable for everyone else on this block.”

“So when he breaks the law, don’t stand in the way of his just punishment. To do so just means that he’ll keep attacking you and everybody else. He made his bed, now let him sleep in it.”

Instead of William Wallace, we get Neveville Chamberlain..Republicans are the party of “stupid/incompetent” and they never cease to amaze me at how stupid they are.

WHEN will we ever get a Repub. with “balls”-who isn’t afraid of an a “war (politically), an “all-out WAR” with DEMOCRATS/liberals???

You got these nazi democrats on the ropes and you want to let them up? That’s insane. Stomp these pricks into the ground.

Damn! We may have to go third party to get the necessary work done.

Republican governors like Christie, Walker and Kasich are out there standing up to the Dems yet congressional leadership is rolling over for them. After years of watching Dems abuse their power House Republicans still haven’t figured out they’re being played for the hapless chumps that they are.

“We may have to go third party to get the necessary work done.”

It’s looking more and more like that’s the only option since Republicans are never going to deliver no matter what they promise. Brings to mind the old adage: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Just why do they want to get along with these America-hating, American hating losers? Repubs...grow a pair and defeat every last one of these hoped-to-soon-be-like-the-Whigs.

sadly I agree! Republicans cave at every corner!

The Country watched as the Democrats literally turned their backs on their constituents and ran

.... they watched when the Republicans voted on fines and consequences

... now they watch as they remove those consequences.

Lawless bunch!!!

ALL OF THEM!

Sorry. It's not going to happen as long as people keep voting for Ds and Rs. We are being played

If this is true & I believe it is... then why did they even pass the law to fine them. Seems they don’t get punished for running away... this is so wrong on so many levels...
I think they were suppose to be fined $100-$250 a day... now they are letting them off the hook!!

Now watch to see what happens... I bet you the Democrats will try to do something to pass NOT allowing the GOP to be able to flee when THEY have control of the legislation... as they are screaming they will.

It would be better to first make the rats that ran away to drop the recall of Gov Scott Walker... bet ya they keep going with that issue...

Simply incredible... but then again what do we expect of our public officials... NO BACKBONE!!

“Fitzgerald declined to say which Democrats had given him the assurances they wouldn’t leave again.”

Read the fine/buried print...Fitzgerald struck a DEAL with a few moderate ‘Rats who CAVED and promised not to run away ever again. I’m sure he gave them this in return for that.

Remember - it’s the ADULTS who are getting concessions from the CHILDREN.

I can live with it. It moves doing The People’s Business forward and still leaves us with the upper hand. WE can still get TONS of tax-saving bills passed, get CC, defund this and that, revoke this, that and the other thing. :)

(And this is from the ‘Urinal’. Of COURSE they’ll portray Republicans in the worst possible light!)

Constitutional amendment - bad. They are trying to solve the wrong problem - typical Dem move, and one that should be very suspect. It was not the quorum requirement that was the issue here, but the subversion of the will of the people by members of the Senate refusing to do their jobs. And in this case, Miller is actually right - the higher threshhold should be in place for budgetary issues.

You wanna amend the Constitution? Put in a clause that 3 days unexcused AWOL absence = resignation.

Bad idea, the Democrats and the WI liberals will interpret this as a sign of weakness and walk all over the “charitable” Republicans. Where is Joe McCarthy when we need him?
