The 24 hour news cycle and 4 cable news networks have as much to do with it as anything. They’ve got to fill all that time with something and electoral speculation is one way to so it.
Of course, this Murphy actually joined the fray and was not the object of speculation. He is just answwering the ‘Rat Party’s call to take out Allen.
Well, Allen can take care of himself but we can use him more right now to add some conservatim to the Senate. DeMint wants more company and Rubio would like a conservative stablemate from Florida, I’m sure.
