(AP:TOKYO) Japan's transport ministry says it has imposed a no-fly zone over a 20-mile (30-kilometer) radius around the stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant.
Ministry spokesman Hiroaki Katsuma said the decision was made Tuesday because of fears that radioactive particles leaking from the complex into the atmosphere could enter passing aircraft.

This is a sensible move, it might have been imposed at the urging of other countries who didn’t want to risk having contaminated aircraft landing at their airports.
But of course, he had no fears that information would get out that wasn't from the government's official sources.
Seems to me that the Japanses populace is handling this pretty well. Can you imagine what would have happened in Oakland, or Watts or Detroit, or Philly or Baltimore or DC if there were a breakdown like the Japanese were experiencing.
Did they get UN approval?
Did they get clearance from other Asian countries?
Well...
There was a minor civil order breakdown
in New Orleans a few years ago...
