The administration approved a loan guarantee for two new reactors. They are in a bind because they still need nuclear power for their green standard:

Show us the money (new power plant plans)!

Oddly enough that's one rule I would impose on companies building new plants. Within 10 years of the new plant going on line, the company should show plans for their next generation reactor. I doubt they would mind if they knew they would be able to build it in the future.
