Latest news from Japan:
From the BBC-
1456: Tepco says it may start pouring water from a helicopter over Fukushima Daiichi's reactor four in the next few days, to cool the spent-fuel pool.
1439: A 30km (18 mile) no-fly zone is in place around Fukushima, says the IAEA.
1436: The IAEA says Monday's blast at Fukushima may have affected the integrity of the containment vessel - there are fears of more serious radioactive leaks if happen.
1435: Following earlier reports, it appears there has been more than one strong aftershock in Japan - AP reports two tremors measuring over 6.0 within three minutes of each other.
Twitter-
-US Geological Survey counts 451 aftershocks since the initial earthquake struck Japan Friday. 238 of them registered magnitude 5.0 or more.
-Despite situations in Japan & Libya, spksmn Jay Carney says Pres Obama's 5-day trip to Brazil, Chile & El Salvador starting Fri night is on.

Getting reports that US, UK quake rescue search teams to pull out of Japan due to radiation fears.
He’s Voice Of America from So Korea base but, currently in Fukushima - not sure what reports he refers to.
AMEN TO THAT!
Thanks

I got tested for exposure & while my levels are indeed up to 10x normal that’s not high enough for me to be concerned about my health
If Geiger counter starts registering 20,000+ cpm I’d feel a little uneasy. (My boots Thursday: 3,000 cpm). A colleagues’ shoes: 10,000 cpm
I wonder if people evacuating Japan are being screened for radiation on their stuff/clothing?
Otherwise I can’t see that happening.
A little more here on O’Hare:

Of course, reading the article closer, this is 1 power line to 1 reactor, #2. I thought #3 and #4 were the most critical ones with the spent fuel rods.
IAEA: Unit 4 at Fukushima “remains a major safety concern”. No information on water level or temperature. #c4new http://bit.ly/g7kmJs
Mark.
“Travelers who show signs of radiation sickness are being referred to health authorities for proper treatment.”
Does this mean there are passengers actually showing signs of radiation sickness??
Dallas-Ft. Worth too.
Thank YOU Lord!
Those Japanese sure like drama, as in cutting this pretty close!
Please get some makeshift cooling going ... Like now!
7 days and the line is just run. It won’t even be hooked up until tomorrow! Gawd they move slow over there!
It appears they are just hooking the line up to reactor #2. What about the other 5?
I heard Sandra Bullock has contributed $1,000,000 to the Japanese...
I find it impossible to believe that they couldn't get a power source of some kind over there within a couple days of the quake/tsunami. This smacks of massive incompetence, but maybe it's just me.
Isn’t it amazing? At this rate they’ll solve this problem 6-7 weeks down the line. Surely they had SOME way to get power to those plants. ANY way!
The Japanese certainly have their own way of doing things. Kinda regimented system of doing things it seems. Of course, we don't have the most aggressive offer of help coming from our CEO.
I'm like you in belief that more could have been done sooner. I know some plant mangers in B.R. and L.C. and Beaumont who would have had most of the reactors and storage pools overflowing with seawater by now.
