One correction: Germaine Greer was unable to have children and actually wrote supportively about the joys of having children way back in the 70’s.
Tell me, have you ever met a happy Leftist on any gender, or age, because I never have.
I’ve met some happy idiots that voted for them, though.
Big secret: kids are only small for a short time, and when they aren't small anymore, you aren't young anymore, either. What was more important? The office, and slaving in a corporate intellectual sweatshop for some CEO and Board of Directors and shareholders, or looking for ladybugs with a bunch of your kiddos on a warm, spring day?
I work to keep food on the table, that's about it. Took a demotion and a huge paycut from my last position, to have a "lesser" job that usually gets me home in time for dinner.....
....which is great. Tonite was jerked pork tenderloin (one of my favorites), followed by playing with my kids with this remote control bug (christened "Rube Goldbug" by my oldest) for most of the evening.
Beats the heck out of airports and hotels and bad restauarant food and all-nighters and 4am meetings with Europe that are "absolutely critical" (but forgotten by the next day) and....and.....and, every single time. :-)
I've absolutely no idea why anyone would intentionally choose that over playing with their kids. Intensely unhappy people, perhaps, or just those with misplaced priorities.
