Online Nuclear Power Plant simulator

This is a nuclear reactor game I came across about ten years ago. It allows you to try to get reasonable power out of a plant without melting it down. It's hard, and very informative. It is especially timely, considering current events.

Click on the site to manage your own reactor. You'll probably melt it down within a few days. :)

A simulator with an agenda. Is this how climate change is justified as a political agenda?

I ignore the political message. The game is fun. Now I know why Homer Simson is over his head. :)

I played it three times. The third time it said my average power was over 1600 KW and power rates in my area dropped. You kinda got to get a feel for it. It’s a bit like flying a fully loaded B-17. It does not respond to what you are doing NOW. It responds to what you did a little while ago.

The first naval reactor using nuclear power was started in 1953. There have been no nuclear accidents on US Naval vessels ever.

Or you could try something simpler, like landing the Eagle:

Ack! You’re beating me on the power output. I averaged only 795 Kw over 148 days with minimal equipment damage. However, I gradually shut the core down around the 80th day just to get a feel for doing it. That might be why your avg output is higher.

BTW - The dang thing said that I had rolling blackouts. Must be a PG&E reactor built by Gov. Davis...

Cheers

Yup, third time’s a charm, but you still beat me on power output:

>Day 132

>You have produced an Average Power Output of : 1207 KW

>Your average Power Production Rate is not bad. Your area’s power needs were supplied - just.

>The equipment damage sustained was very light.

Cheers
