I wonder if Juan Williams made his remarks before or after the report came out, which I heard about last night, showing the original interview had been seriously cut and edited and assembled in the most prejudicial way possible. The person discussing this issue said that listening to the entire taping without any cuts showed a significantly different slant to the remarks and overall interview. A technical analysis showed the numerous cuts that had been made in the reassembled tape.
If Schiller really said these things -- as he did -- does it make any difference how many other things he might have said? Did he reverse any of his problematic statements?
According to this story there were issues with the editing, but it still showed the NPR execs in a very bad position.
