This morning, Glenn Beck returned from his vacation and responded to a New York Times article that suggested he and Fox News could be parting ways soon. I received hundreds of “Say it ain’t so, Joe” e-mails last week about this topic, so it goes with out saying that I was glad to hear Glenn get this out of the way this morning...

. . . sometimes the news and the truth is not so good to hear and perhaps we've avoided both so long that it does seem overwhelming when put in it's proper perspective . That's why they have American Idol and MTV for those who choose to avoid the warnings of the ultimate political/economical tsunami we are now facing in this country . If he gets canned it would be his own fault. His show is so depressing. He is all doom and gloom all the time and his crying or whining depending on the day is ridiculous for an adult male.

As I told my friend this morning the NY Times doesn’t cite were they source these numbers from, such as Nielsen.

It therefore is a hit piece by some haplASS hack, who has an axe to grind.

How could Beck’s numbers crater? They didn’t. The times and all my friends make it sound like he lost 1 million viewers in his daily numbers. That would be one hell of hit for a guy who can draw 1/2 a million people to Washington, D.C. in a hot and muggy August afternoon just 6 months ago.

If he had lost 1 million viewers a day that would translate to roughly 20% and sure, advertisers wouldn’t be happy. Neither would Beck or Ailes.

“IF” he lost 1 million in a week, which still doesn’t seem probable, then again maybe Beck confirmed the numbers, his actual loss is just under 4%. Not a problem if isn’t trending and I doubt it will.

Anyone using the debate tactic, “You always”, has lost the debate before it started. But I do not think we are debating... go and read the article and then read your post again and tell me that what you posted about Beck was not the core of the article in the ny slimes. I made no judgement on your post... I just pointed out what I have reiterated above. I do not give any thought to opposing you in any way. I respond to posts and subjects... not because of what people have posted in the past (unless they are outright trolls). I offer no offense to you and apologize if you think I hold any malice towards you. I do not.
