I knew a guy in the early 80’s from a gym I use to go to, incredible personality, great guy, funny....was a body builder. Was bigger and more cut than anyone we knew in his weight class yet he never competed because he always said he wasn’t big enough. They couldn’t tell this guy enough times he was ready to compete AND would WIN.
He ended up taking his life because he had no satisfaction with the way he looked or felt...very sad indeed.
The most arrogant, seemingly successful person i ever knew shot himself through the heart. Laid there in his apartment for days until his brother found him. The note said something about how he felt like a failure. The last person you’d think would do this. Very weird. I can’t imagine the dark and lonely place you’d have to be in to take your own life. Barring some horrible accident you felt guilty for.
What a sad story...about the weight lifter. You never know the burden some people are carrying. Another reason to be extra nice to everybody you deal with.
