***Surprise! One can isn’t enough for a couple of sandwiches anymore. It’s all the way down to 5 oz. It used to be near 7, if I recall.***

I opened a can of Tuna not long ago and found more water than tuna in it. Definitly not like it used to be!

Agreed, there’s more water than tuna now days. But the cat is pleased.

Canned tuna has indeed gone from 7 oz, to 5 oz. All my recipes call for a 7 oz can of tuna in my cookbooks and some of the cookbooks aren’t that old. This must have changed in the last year or so, since I just started using the smaller weight cans, and I try to have a dozen cans or so ahead at all times.

Some canned tomatoes are now only 10 oz. instead of 14.5 oz. now too. I wonder what will be next to switch to smaller size cans.

BTW, there’s more than water in those cans of tuna. The “water” is actually SOY based vegetable broth. Canned tuna is off my list - I’m allergic to soy. Read the labels. A can of soy free tuna at Fred Meyer is over $5.
