A volcano in southwestern Japan erupted Sunday after nearly two weeks of relative silence, sending ash and rocks up to four kilometres (two and a half miles) into the air, a local official says.
It was not immediately clear if the eruption was a direct result of the massive 8.9-magnitude earthquake that rocked northern areas Friday, unleashing a fierce tsunami and sparking fears that more than 10,000 may have been killed.

Earth is undergoing entopic decline. I don’t know if that’s ‘evolving’, but it is a real, testable phenomenon and related tot he electrical nature of our planet. The magnetic filed is declining and the torsion fields are in flux. All the plates ‘float’ on a magma layer which allows them to move in fits and starts, jerking the puny constructs of men around int he process. ... The planet is a dynamic system just doing its thing.

Just one small part of Japan was hit, most of the rest of the country is more or less fine.
China may be Communist, but they aren’t that dumb.
Sadly, no one alive today will ever see that happen. The plate tectonics/vulcanism inside of the Earth is almost like a perpetual motion machine. The cycle is seemingly endless, but at some time(another 2 billion years?) it WILL end, and then we're 'Mars'(dead planet).
Holy cow, the Japanese just can’t get a break this week.
