You say, “and the parents of these men/boys bear no responsibility for the upbringing of them. blame it all on the schools. The schools have them for 6 hours a day, 9 months a year for up to 13 years. Yeah blame them rather than the parents that actually gave birth to the little felons.”

I agree with you on that one. Schools are being held responsible for societal issues. The government pays welfare mothers to put out a dozen children whose only purpose in a classroom is to create chaos and, somehow, the schools are to blame. One major problem with FR is all the “home school” believers who seem to actually BELIEVE the schools created these problems. My children attend public school and don’t rape and pillage. If you want to home-school, then go ahead but stop being so blind as to who is to blame for societal issues.

“somehow, the schools are to blame... my children don’t rape”

Agreed! Parents have to be held to a higher form of responsibility. NOT ALL public school kids are sociopaths like these boys/men. I have a high school boy who doesn’t drink alcohol/do drugs, volunteers at a nursing home, says prayers before meals (yes, at school), doesn’t hurt people etc... In fact, he got in trouble by the school recently for stepping up to a bully who was picking on a small freshman boy. Granted, he could have said something better than, “If you want to push someone around, try it on someone who isn’t 5 feet tall” but you get the point. Meanwhile, the neighborhood boy who goes to a Catholic high school was arrested last month for destroying over 60 mailboxes in our neighborhood. It goes back to the parents... plain and simple. IMHO

Thank you for your comment, I am hated by a number of these “Home-schoolers” because I am a common sense conservative that also happens to be a public school teacher. I have offered a number of them a list of my students that they should take and demonstrate just how well their methods work. Not a one of them has taken the offer.

To that, I’ll add that the government has parents scared to use ANY physical discipline for fear of losing their children.
