Second, I was wondering if the more enterprising of California's counties could put into place a "shall issue" policy for any law abiding resident of California who comes looking for a permit. While this would be a major hassle and inconvenience for many people, it might be a major money-maker for these counties.
I do not have a firearms permit, because I refuse to pay $500 for a right guaranteed by the Constitution.
It is liberals who prevent me from enjoying the benefits of the Constitution.
I've been hesitant to get a license because of the fees and the fact that I can carry legally in my car anyway, but I guess you can't put a price on your safety. Then again, you have places like IL and OH where some people want to publish the names of every gun owner and CHL.
It costs $25.00 in Pennsylvania. No classes either. Fill out the application that you can get online, send it in, the Sheriff's office does the background check and tells you to come down, hand him $25.00 and they take your picture and hand you your permit.

Some time back I believe the Police Chief of Lodi did just that. It wasn't long before the legislature changed the law so that one could only obtain a permit from his city or county of residence.
