Someone pointed out that thermal dynamics was not understood when the first steam engines were invented either.

I’m a patent attorney, so I have seen my share of the good and the really bad of new inventions. Making something work although you really don’t understand how it works (at least not at first) happens all the time. Unexpected results happen. But making something that works that goes AGAINST generally understood laws/theories is something that deserves a little more scrutiny.

In my younger (hungrier) days as a patent attorney, I visited many an inventors lab (garage) only to find out that his energy machine wouldn’t run itself “just because I didnt have a big enough sprocket on the input side” or the like. Even these people could get investors. The opportunity to get rich quick is an enticing drug.

Now I tend to press a bit more for them to call when when they have it completely working, and they can bring it or a video to me. I haven’t seen anything yet that is as drastic as this guy claims.

Not that some very interesting workable things don’t come across my desk - but they tend to come from people that do it for living.

I have had some interactions with patent attorneys and I confess they were some of the most intelligent folks I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

Don’t know you of course but that is my bias.

I don’t accept this guy’s claim or reject it. I’m just watching with interest.
