Try “Skype”? Just a suggestion. Particularly if that person has Skype, too, and internet connective. Phone contact is very very difficult at this time.
Thank God you’re ok- was just wondering. My prayers are with you all...this is a nightmare beyond anything.
Thanks much...
Steve
VeryGlad you are alright........stay safe!
They had all the roads shut down on Guam, and evac going on.
I’m betting loss of life is minimized there. Property damage, who knows...
“Just watched tonight what a 30 foot wave does to a town 2 miles upriver from the coast”
And when the wave DOES hit the hills at the end of its course, it will “run up” the sides another 30 feet. (Like the water in your bathtub).
I HAVE to go to bed. It’s going to be difficult to get to sleep...
Japan giving more tsunami warnings and watches...wow.
That really, really ticked me off!
The only reason I found out is because I was in my car and decided to put on XM radio (which I rarely do) to hear about the Charlie Sheen raid.
Since I’ve been home I have been glued to TV, FR, local radio, NOAA radio, Twitter (lame), NOAA website (crashed).
It’s full blown mission control here.
The height of the wave on Guam is supposed to be an early indication of how bad things will be in Hawaii
There are about 43,000 Americans in Japan, not even counting US military, which is also a significant number.
Prayers up for you and yours, FRiend.
CNN has the NHK warnings right now, Fox is still looping same footage over and over.
There has got to be a massive loss of life along the Northeast Japan coast, when the water recedes
Red cross saing the tsunami is higher than some pacific Islands....

HAGATNA, GUAM A tsunami warning has been issued for the U.S. territory of Guam, following a 8.9 quake off the coast of Japan.
The Guam Department of Homeland Security and Civil Defense has urged residents to evacuate low-lying areas.
Homeland Security has asked all hotels and apartment buildings in the city of Tumon to empty their bottom five floors of guests or tenants.
“All residents and visitors are advised to evacuate low-lying areas and proceed to areas higher than 50 feet above sea level and 100 feet inland of the coast and mouths of rivers,” a warning states.
All public beaches have been closed, according to the office of Gov. Eddie Calvo.
Some hotels in Tumon have posted notice boards on their property and are keeping visitors up to date. In east Agana, business has closed their doors and some gas stations are shuttered up.
Tsunamis can form a series of waves that could continue to strike the beach many hours after the first wave, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center website.

After my first month in Japan, I became quite accustomed to the quakes here... Besides the first time I felt one here 13 years ago... This one scared the poo out of me :/
