How are you distinguishing between fortune telling and what Jesus said in John 16:13: He [the Spirit of truth] will show you things to come? On two levels.
- The Holy Spirit inspired those who were at that table to write prophetically concerning the end of the (Jewish) age, and the Great Tribulation heading down the pike for 70 AD.
- The Holy Spirit catalyzes our intuition, to give us direction concerning our own lives, families, and callings. "God will never whisper into another man's ears the meaning of your life," a sage once said.
The number of warts on the nose of some hypothetical "antichrist" is a matter of indifference to me. Guiding my family in terms of God's best plans for our lives -- now that's another story!
