Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.), Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) announced Thursday they plan to introduce a bill that would allocate up to $80 million in "enterprise funds" for Egypt and Tunisia.
The senators said they hope the money will attract private investment in the countries, similar to programs initiated in Eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
These new enterprise funds will allow us to do what the people of Egypt and Tunisia are calling for and thats to provide investment capital so their entrepreneurs and private businesses, so that their economies can stabilize, can prosper, said Kerry.
Money is especially tight these days on Capitol Hill, where congressional leaders are in the midst of tense budget negotiations and lawmakers are seeking to make deep cuts. The senators said the money for these two countries would be reassigned from existing funds already appropriated to the Department of State.
The enterprise funds allocated by the United States to Eastern Europe, worth $1.2 billion, were eventually matched with $5 billion in private funds.
The three senators announced their initiative just a couple days before Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was scheduled to make her trip to the Middle East.
These young revolutionaries are not overjoyed about us and the perceived lack of support for them under these previous governments, said McCain. But the one thing they respect and want more than anything else is for us to help them restore their economy.
What are we giving them money for?
So here we go again trying to buy the loyalty and friendship of people who hate our guts. It’s always worked so well for us in the past.
They`re Egyppin` us agin
That would make a good tagline.
What’s that saying, “ Insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.”
Yep, Democraps are insane.
F’n McLame....again.
Does this mean they’ll take the funds allocated to rebuild mosques around the world? HA!
stop this insane spending
McLame is back cozying up to that douchebag Kerry and LIEbermann.
6 more years of this ass. Thank you Arizona. You had the chance to make a good choice and you blew it.
Why does McCain pretend hes a Republican?
Hey, we could use some of that stuff for OUR economy. Maybe you dunces haven't noticed, but our economy ain't exactly stable and prospering.
This is EXACTLY why I don't believe for a SECOND that either Party is going to cut a dime from the deficit or debt. What they save with one hand, they'll just spend with the other, twofold.
We're trying to FIND places to cut 6 billion out of a 4 TRILLION dollar proposed budget and can't do it. But they can always find places to spend another 6 billion.
Forget it. They aren't going to cut a DIME!

Voops. Sorry about the italics.
Itchy and Scratchy and their buddy Joe can go to hell. Create jobs here asshats!
