New video: NPR was going to accept Muslim Education Action Center donation and hide it from the govt

THIS IS THE SECOND JAMES O'KEEFE VIDEO! And it is EXPLOSIVE!!!

--

New video released Thursday afternoon indicates National Public Radio intended to accept a $5 million donation from fictitious Muslim Brotherhood front group Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC) Trust – and that the publicly funded radio network might have helped MEAC make the donation anonymously to protect it from a federal government audit.

When a man posing as Ibrahim Kasaam asked, “It sounded like you were saying NPR would be able to shield us from a government audit, is that correct?” NPR’s senior director of institutional giving, Betsy Liley, responded, “I think that is the case, especially if you are anonymous. I can inquire about that.” According to conservative James O’Keefe, whose Project Veritas organization conducted the NPR sting organization, the man posing as Kasaam made two follow-up phone calls to Liley after their lunch.

Liley said a $5 million donation would amount to about “10 years of support.”

Kasaam follows up by asking: “The fact that NPR is not only a tax-exempt organization, but also receives direct contributions from the government — does that invite some sort of government oversight or government examination of contributions, et cetera?”

Liley answered: “They have audited our programs at times and, I think, as part of that, they can look at our audited financials. If you are concerned in any way about that, that’s one reason you might want to be an anonymous donor. And, we would certainly, if that was your interest, want to shield you from that.”

Liley mentioned a precedent at NPR — in more than $80 million in donations from universities.

“I don’t know if you remember this; about two years ago a number of institutions, higher ed institutions, all with women as presidents, got donations that ranged from $5 million to $12 million. They were never identified who the gifts were from, but they totaled about $80 million dollars.”

Interesting: ‘Two years ago’= election time
$80 million from universities
(Liley said a $5 million donation would amount to about “10 years of support.”)if 5mil = 10 years of support, then 80mil= 160 years of support. Where did all that money go(election time)? and why should the taxpayer fund NPR? I think an in depth audit needs to be done.

Since no one in the mainstream is going to report this, they’re smart to stay quiet. Wonder how many of these deals were successful?

They will, once the pubbies in Congress make a noise about it.

Not just unions. It’s SOP for opportunists to give politicians say $100K so that the pol will give the opportunist say $10M of taxpayer money to return the favor.
A 100-to-one payoff — no wonder it’s so popular.

I believe donations to NPR are tax deductable. Under those circumstances, any desire to mask to source of donations should raise red flags.

Precisely.

My guess is that, in this case, the masking would be in NPR's interest, not the donor's. Given a group that admits connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, it would be best for NPR to remain as far away as possible.

Which also brings up a more disturbing issue: The readiness with which "masking" was offered suggests that a.) NPR has done it before for similar donors and b.) considers it routine in such cases.

So, who (and what) else is hidden in their donor woodwork?

The whole organization is rotten to its very core. Like most of Washington, apparently.

We have to be careful - liberals might be self-serving, corrupt and creepy - but they know how to write laws that allow all those things.

Not surprised in the least. There's so much money moving throughout organizations and government, and that kept under wraps, the corruption would make the Costa Nostrum look honest by comparison.

I wonder if the pollsters are corrupted by money.

Naw...What was I thinking? That could never happen.

I probably should have added that when the contributions come from foundations or other non profits, they’re reported on the donating entities annual returns.

Wow - corruption all over the place.

Why are we dumping money into this again? We need to defund it.

They can take their “intelligent” audience to the private arena.

Maybe by now(halfway through Obama’s term)many of us have become hardened to all of the corruption we are surrounded by.

O’Keeffe’s targets seem to be playing checkers, while he is playing chess. Funny how he always seems to be one move ahead of them. I absolutely love this guy...

So do I!

After the midterm blowout victory, I would hardened and cynical would NOT be our attitude. Because that’s a lousy attitude.

I would hope we would not be so defeatist, as it defies logic.

I would hope we would be energized to spread the truth with a renewed fervor.

;-)

It is perfectly legal to give $$$ to a 501c3....and then the 501c3 can give the money to ANY organization they want...if you get my gist...the giver cannot identify WHO the money should go to....but...they may give some hints.
