Hmm. I may stand corrected. Seems to be a legal distinction between "unalienable" (cannot be bought or sold) and "inalienable" (can be bought or sold). Here, I thought it was simply a trick of 18th century vs. 21st century language.

Old dog > new trick.

Google (images) “Declaration of Independence” - you will see that the original document reads “unalienable.”
