Then I don’t get it. What’s changed? WHy didn’t they just do this weeks ago? If all that happened was stripping out the fiscal stuff, that could have been done long ago.

The Wisconsin Democrat Senators have been given every opportunity over the past 19 days to return and vote.

By giving them 19 days to return the unionistas have no claim the legislation is unfair.

I sincerely think Gov. Walker wanted the Dem's there to vote on this.

But, like the rest of us, enough is enough ... too much time has passed.

You snooze, you lose.

And in this case it's not just snoozing, it's partying it up out-of-state, using your state-issued credit card on stuff like hotel rooms, high-priced food at exquisite restaurants, gasoline, etc.

The raping of the taxpayers had to stop at some point.

Think this through. They needed to give the Dems ample time to come back or else they’d be accused of railroading it through. This way they have the moral high ground with normal, thinking, commonsense people. With the Dim-ideologues they’ll never have moral standing. But it’s important to do things so that the broad middle sees the commonsense decency in it.

Gov Walker and the Senate GOP bent over backwards to get the rats to return. They were obviously not planning to return any time soon so the GOP said..."TIMES UP" and made the necessary changes to move ahead without needing the rats to be present.

They could have done it sooner but this is how it ended up being played out.

Maybe they took a play out of the ‘Rats’ own playbook — unleash the lawyers, find a loophole and go for it. In other words, did the Republicans know three weeks ago or just recently that taking out the financials would allow them to vote immediately on the collective bargaining?

But really, I am lmao at the vacationing Dems!

Just guessing, but my take is that the Republicans originally wanted to pass the whole thing. When the Dems ran, that was no longer possible. Had the Republicans immediately stripped the non financial parts from the bill, they would have been accused of being ruthless and acting in bad faith. By waiting, they were able to take the high ground and show that they gave the Dems a chance to be heard. The Dems didn't WANT to be heard, they wanted to obstruct. At some point, it was appropriate to act, and the Republicans have decided that it was now.

So, what's next? I hope that Walker and his legal advisers are considering declaring the Dems seats as being vacant. Since the White House is coordinating the recall of Republicans in Wisconsin, it is better to declare the seats as being vacant and forcing the Dems to fund the elections of the Dems as well as fund any recall effort. This can get excruciatingly costly for the Dems and their supporters.

“If all that happened was stripping out the fiscal stuff, that could have been done long ago.”

Exactly! I would imagine that Walker didn’t want to act any sooner because of the accusations that he wasn’t willing to consider a compromise plus the crowds of protesters needed to be thinned out to prevent a potential police state crisis.

I’m glad they waited. It allowed the RATS to look like a bunch of fools for a few weeks.
