What have I done? I am the elected First Vice Chairman of the Mohave County Republican Central Committee. I ran as a ticket with State Senator Ron Gould..the Ron Gould who is trying to overturn the 14th amendment (anchor babies) here in AZ and is the highest rated conservative in AZ according to every organization that monitors such things, including a 100% rating by the Goldwater Institute.
Last week I raised $11K for the County Party through our annual Lincoln Day Dinner. It was a record in Mohave County. I am a Precint Committeeman and manned phone banks and walked the precincts. I procured office space for free for the last election cycle and managed the office by myself. In my district alone, I helped turn a district that had 3 PC's in 2009 into a District that has almost 60 today.
I am also the President of the Colorado River Republican Women. When I took over at the end of 2009, we had 32 members. Today, we have over 130. In one year we went from being the smallest in Mohave County to the largest. I was given an award last week by the National Federation of Republican Women for my club's incredible rise in membership. We have townhalls with local and State candidates, promote conservative values in our community, register people to vote and make sure we get them out to vote. I am proud of the work the Republican Women do.
Last night I met with the new AZ State Chairman, a tea party guy named Tom Morrissey and pledged I would help him in his mission to take the State Party back from the Washington elites (McCain) and put it back into the hands of the grass roots (us) by helping him with his program to raise money from the grass roots instead of the big donors.
In a few months, I will formally announce my candidacy for the office of County Supervisor where I hope to bring common sense conservatism back to local government.
I believe I do more for conservatism in one week than many here have done in their lifetimes. I am proud to be an Arizona Republican and I'm proud of what we do. So please excuse me if I get a bit testy when I'm called a RINO.
