What is it with everyone coming down on Sheen? Sure he has some drug and ego issues. Still, he role on the show is pretty darn good and nobody else could pull it off like Sheen.

Probably because most Freepers are decent people who tend to not want to see an individual destroy himself and then, like turning on a dime, move to the next self destructive individual.

I’m glad to hear you say that because my wife and I enjoy that show including Sheen very much. While the writing was good, Sheen did a great job. Both he and Cryer would do whatever it took to get the laughs. And the eye candy was always nice too.

Well, yea. It’s not hard to play a character that is basically, yourself. No question he nailed it.

Well, I don’t really agree. I think there are a ton of guys that could handle that part. I’m probably coming down on him because I dislike the whole “Look at me...I want attention” thing he has going on.

I thought the show and Sheen were actually good too.

I watched some new episodes and reruns interspersed. In my opinion, the reruns’ comedy had a bit more spice. The episode with Costello and Penn come to mind. But it’s very good versus excellent.

They should have kept Sheen, tolerated his off camera outbursts, and fed the outbursts and behavior right back into the scripts using a scriptwriting equivalent of a feedback loop. In the scripts, they don’t need to stop at two heavenly angels. Why not four heavenly angels, and two of them have the clap or genital warts and two don’t, and get in a big argument about it (it could also serve as improvised sex education too)? The Sheen character was underutilized. They could copy his offscreen persona into the script and throw it under the bus every week, essentially forever, by portraying him as a human dungbeetle ball.

Heck, I would write and act in it for a 20% break in the salary and perks that he was getting...
