If they simply make experience in the Motor Pool a prerequisite for command assignment, then the problem will be solved.
>>>>are more patriotic and those happen to be white males.<<<<
Ahh, my people!!
More proof Liberalism is a disease!
Who wants to get on a submarine who's officers and crew were qualified by their race, gender, and sexual preference?
Shouldn’t they also consider promotion policies for gays too, or are they going to make them suck up?
Based on the disgraceful paucity of real information, the only message visible is the one intended: "the U.S. military is racist and sexist." You can trust the AP on that, they've seen a report of some sort.
Women on ships and in leadership positions in the Navy has worked out so well. s/
And don;t get me started on Colin Powell.
And half-gay too.
Rear admirals?
Hmmm along with a wide open border and immigration quotas that are decidedly anti-white and anti Western European this will be an ever increasingly less white military and nation. Some folks would term that policy a type of genocide.
Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group
1. Nowhere in the article does it specify who produced the report and what criteria/methods were used.
2. They won’t be satisfied until sub-par affirmative-action officers get their enlisted men killed.
Correct me, any of you who have served, but did you ever care about the ethnic persuasion of your superiors, or just that they were good officers?
Let me know, will you?
I’m NOT going to go there nor will I say it out loud!
One of the more important factors in promotion (in the Army)is a successful command, especially at the Battalion level. Since most of our forces are organized around the fighting units, there tend to be more Armor and Infantry Battalions than other specialties. Makes sense. For example, at Fort Riley, there were six combat (Armor or Infantry) battalions...but only one Chemical BN...and one Artillery BN...and one air defense battalion, etc.
Well, women are not permitted in Armor and Infantry. Its for a host of reasons, ranging from the morality of sending our nation’s mothers into close combat, to the strength limitations of most women.
So, seems obvious why women are under-represented. Fair? To the troops it is...maybe not to a few particular women who feel left out.
Now to the more controversial. Remember what I said about Armor and Infantry being the ticket punch to higher level command. When I was at West Point, 25 years ago, I had two black room-mates during my time there. I listened to discussions they had with their (black) friends there. Here’s the gist:
Infantry is hard, and not worth the effort working that hard for a racist country.
Armor - they’re all a bunch of racists, stay away from that.
Air Defense Artillery - you’ll almost always be in a rear area, and sleep in tents instead of out in the elements. Also, lots of black people, a good place to go.
Chemical and Quartermaster - Lots of women, good place to go.
My experience is purely anectdotal; but, that is my experience. Myself - I went Armor. I saw two black Armor officers in five years. There are more black Infantry officers; but, they are still under-represented. Bottom line...in my experience...blacks chose not to go into Armor and Infantry. If you get to the rank of LTC or higher, this will have an impact in your ability to become a General...its just the way it is.
You always hear of the Glass Ceiling, but never about the Glass Cellar. 98% of on the job deaths are suffered by men.
Rear admirals. Before they rear you.
Someone needs to DEMAND that the phrase “too many whites” be defined.
“Too many” or “too much” of anything inherently implies a harmful or destructive situation.
Define how “too many whites” is a harmful or destructive situation.
Oh my gravy. It seems that all of my husbands commanding officers are either female or minority (or both!) It has always seemed like the Army went out of their way to promote the minorities vs. white men.
“Its like TV ads, where its not diverse enough unless >50% of the actors are black.”
So true. Next time you see an ad for Intel, Glaxco or any high tech company, you will get the impression that the vast majority of their scientists are women and minorities.
