WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court said Monday it won't review a decision throwing out a lawsuit stemming from the New England Patriots' 2007 "Spygate" scandal.

The high court refused to revive a New York Jets fan's class-action lawsuit against their football archrivals and coach, Bill Belichick.

Carl Mayer, a lawyer in Princeton, N.J., known for filing legal actions against New Jersey politicians, is a Jets season ticket-holder. He wanted millions of dollars from the Patriots and Belichick, claiming they deceived customers by secretly videotaping Jets coaches' in-game signals. His lawsuit claimed fans spent large sums to see games that were essentially rigged.

If I were the NFL commish, I would have told the Jets "tough - hide your signs or change them." Sign stealing is part of the game, and always has been in most team sports.

If the point of using signs is because you don't want the plays telegraphed, then you're responsible for making sure they are complex enough -- or changed often enough -- to accomplish your goals. The signs are displayed publicly -- therefore it's fair game.

Jets fans would better served suing their low-class lard-butt coach for letting his mouth write checks his team's ass can't cash.

As I understand the "crime," every team videotaped. The NFL said you couldn't videotape from "HERE" and Belichick's guy had his toe inside the line, (like a drop zone in golf.)

Also, the tapes were used to look for tendencies of the coordinators as to what they did in certain situations, not for the game itself. BB would use it maybe a year or 2 later when they met the coordinator again. (On 3rd and 7, this guy likes a screen pass out in the flat) or (on 3rd and 7, this defense blitzes the Free Safety and drops a linebacker.)

Per Jimmy Johnson, everybody taped everybody else. You'd be stupid not to.
