Let me say this if I may cherry.

Murder is murder. Robbery is robbery. These are legal terms.

The concept of a so-called "hate crime" is what I would call an emotional rider attached to a specific crime. The only reason the term exists is that it seeks to appease and comfort leftists in their convoluted quest to achieve social equality.

I'm not sure if you remember Colin Ferguson, dubbed "The Long Island Shooter". In 1993 he boarded a train in New York and killed six people and injured nineteen. None of the victims were white.

Let me state at this point that I am sourcing Wikipedia; in reading the account given, it seems to match my recollection of the events.

From Wikipedia excerpts:

Police detectives later said it appeared Ferguson had been planning the shooting for more than a week.

Chief Joseph Flynn of the Long Island Rail Road police said, "This was the work of a deranged, maniacal person who for a variety of reasons decided to explode."[12] None of Ferguson's victims were black, although it was unclear whether any other black passengers were aboard the train.

Unclear if there were any black passengers on the train? Give me a break.

Ferguson showed no emotion as he sat in the back of a police car, which some passengers said was as shocking and disturbing as the violence of the shooting itself. Upon seeing Ferguson, one of the victims became hysterical and shouted, "How can he be sitting there so calm after everything he did?"[12]

After arresting Ferguson, police found pieces of notebook paper in his pockets with scribbled notes with the heading "reasons for this".[9] One of the notes referred to "racism by Caucasians and Uncle Tom Negroes".[1] They included a reference to "the false allegations against me by the filthy Caucasian racist female on the #1 line", a reference to his February 1992 arrest.

I don't see how anybody can deny that this was a racially motivated crime. A "Hate Crime" as it were. He was never charged with a hate crime. As a matter of fact, his defense lawyers created a term called "Black Rage" in his defense.

Kunstler and Kuby proposed an innovative defense that Ferguson had been driven to temporary insanity by a psychiatric condition they termed "black rage". Kunstler and Kuby argued Ferguson had been driven insane by racial prejudice, and could not be held criminally liable for his actions even though he had committed the killings.[29] The attorneys compared it to the utilization of the battered woman defense, posttraumatic stress disorder and the child abuse syndrome in other cases to negate criminal accountability.

As I stated, this fits the leftists own description of a "hate crime perfectly."

Astonishingly, the contention of the defense team is pointedly blaming the victims themselves; the fact that they were white set him off.

Like I said, consider the source (Wikipedia), read it entirely and decide for yourself. As I said before, although this happened quite some time ago, my recollection is what is stated there.

In closing, if we were to accept this "Black Rage" defense as liberals would have it, it would be perfectly acceptable for a black person to randomly kill a white person because they were having a bad day.

This is what happens when the lunacy of the left is applied in real world scenarios.

Two more recent cases of “Black Rage” triggered by the victim’s complexion:
