“I have very little use for David Gregory.”

Well, I have absolutely zero use for David Gregory and regularly e-mail MTP about his antics and biases. However, Michelle Bachman’s performance on MTP this morning was awful and embarrassing. She looked like a same old/same old politician....repeatedly never answered the questions being asked of her and kept going back to her $105 billion as the statement for everything being asked of her. No straight talk, whatsoever. It was a real disappointment.

I call Gregory Ape Man.

I was also a little disappointed in Michele this morning.

She looked good, she was calm and poised but she did the Texas Two Step.

Granted his questions were all gotcha ones and granted he tried to interrupt her, but she used the dem tactic of never answering questions and just pounding that point.

I feel she could have done both; answered his questions—they weren’t that hard and kept returning to her point if she felt she must.

I was also disappointed that she pointedly did not defend Boehner when asked twice about it.

Boehner is a good guy and we don’t need internecine battles among Republicans, which is what Gregory was so obviously trying to start.

Gonna have to give her a B minus on the interview. I like her but ...

My take on it was about 1/2 way between those cheering her on and yours. It was good, but it was unneccesarily adversarial. It's not good to talk past the person asking you questions. She actually did *much* better once she got off the $105 billion talking point.

She has been ambushed by NBC before, so I understand where she's coming from, but I don't think she handled it as well as she could have.

Anyone who gets media training is taught the technique of answering the question you want to, not the one she asked. But, there is a way to do it that doesn't slap the host and the viewer in the face, repeatedly.

Bringing the card with her number on it was just cheesy, too.

I think a problem with Michelle, like Sarah, is that she only appeals to the base. I'll have to talk to my Mom (78) who is a loyal MTP viewer and get her take, but I doubt it will be positive.

Despite the interview she is my favorite Presidential hopeful at this point, I really hope she decides to go for it.
