Either would be great.

Beg to differ. While Bachmann and Palin share nearly identical political views, only one of them has the requisite executive government experience to lead this country as CIC.

Michele Bachmann most definitely has her head in the right place, but let's not forget that she is a US House Rep, with no real track record of running a large enterprise such as a US state.

There is also much to be said about the fact that it's extremely rare in our history for anyone to make the huge leap from the US House, to the Presidency.

In addition to that, I don't believe that Michele Bachmann has sufficient name recognition (outside of the hard-core conservative right) to win the Republican nomination, and to then go on to win the general election.

I can’t understand for the life of me, why pissant is allowed to continue his jihad against Sarah Palin on this website. The mind boggles.

Military command is nothing like executive leadership in either business or political office.

I believe your analysis is correct, WW.

My dear old dad, God bless him, was a highly decorated officer in the US Army, and although he has many admirable character traits, a leader he is not. That, despite the fact that he held many commands during his military career.

The title of this article should not be in the past tense.

"By any reasonable definition of the term, executive experience would include a military command. Indeed, a military command is far better executive experience than most political office or business. Google "executive experience, Presidents" and you will find several listed with references to the military command."

And I disagree. Being able to issue orders in a military command structure is a totally different skill set than that required to garner consensus as is the case in business and government executive positions.

Yes, there "have" been a number of presidents with experience in military command, but other than Washington and Jackson, none of them were particularly "great shakes" as presidents. Zachary Taylor, Ulysses Grant, Dwight Eisenhower and others I may be forgetting were just that, forgettable.

I think that one is still suspect. His resume is complete.
