ATF agents I’ve dealt with are usually good people. Dodson is a hero, in my opinion, for speaking out. I hate to say it, but this may show a good that can come of unionized federal workers: They can blow the whistle and not get fired. Dang! Now I have to go take a shower.

As both an FFL and owner of legal machine guns, I’ve dealt with the ATF in Denver and the NFA in West Virginia multiple times, and they’ve been nothing but knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. I wish all the civil servants I’ve had to deal with were this good at their jobs.
I hate to admit it but you're right to a degree.
I'm dealing with the ATF now because I'm building an SBR, and the individual staffers and specialists have been nothing but helpful.
There's a Jekyll/Hyde thing going on with that agency. The Hyde part seems to exist in the law enforcement arm.
Perhaps we should keep the bureaucrats around to take care of our NFA paperwork and defund the LEOs.
