MADISON -- The 14 missing Senate Democrats have until 4 p.m. today to return to the Capitol or face apprehension tantamount to arrest with or without force."
GOP Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) ordered the apprehension of the senators who fled the state two weeks ago to Illinois to avoid a vote on Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.
Republicans voted 19-0 to give the Democrats until 4 p.m. Thursday to appear before the Senate.
"They have pushed us to the edge of a constitutional crisis," Fitzgerald said. "We simply cannot have democracy be held hostage because the minority wants to prove a point."
The Senate also voted for a "call of the house," which is the mechanism used to compel senators to return to the chamber.
That means the Senate sergeant at arms Ted Blazel can "with or without force" and with or without the help of any law enforcement officers in the state to take them into custody and bring them to the state Capitol.

13 minutes to go.
Arrest time looming.
I’m going to more interested in what MSMNC and Comrade Matthews, Madcow and Special Ed Schultz have to say.
LOL, love the DOG and would love to see him and his crew take them down and drag them back in ...
DRAG THESE NO GOODS BACK!
If I walk out of my job, go on an expensive vacation to another state and bill my employer, I would be fired.
How come these Dem Senators are heroes?
My guess would be that your son was/is an exceptional law enforcement officer. It seems that there is a pattern for exceptional teachers, a law suit is filed and voila! the union protects that teacher and the teacher is forever indebted to the union, particularly teachers who are not keen on unions in the first place.
It does make me wonder if the plaintiffs in these suits aren’t underwritten by the unions.
As long as they’re out of state they’re safe. Illinois will not allow extradition (it’s Obama’s turf) and Wisconsin has no enforcement power in Illinois.
If they wanted to, the WI Senate Republicans could pass a bill to eliminate most public union collective bargaining rights without the three-fifths quorum requirement that the Democrats are avoiding. Since they haven’t, I have to assume they’re simply playing political games with these Democrats. So the Democrats have nothing to lose by disregarding each and every deadline issued by Governor Walker and the Senate Republicans.
When the Republicans mean business, they’ll take actions that don’t require the presence of the Democrats in the Capitol. Until then, it’s all theatre.
Won’t they have warrants for their arrests out, then? They will be FUGITIVES? (like the sound of that!!)
Considering all we’ve heard is that he’s Hitler Mussolini and Mubarack all wrapped into one I think it’ll be hard for him to be vilified any worse than he is.
The Mossad kidnapped Eichmann and it worked out-——why not try it here.
tic, tic, tic...
Two minute warning.........
5,4,3,2.........
Putting on the popcorn right now.
Their time is up.
It is four o’clock and about to get “realer”. I just talked to someone who was in the capitol today and called it a “flophouse”.
“And film it for a COPS episode!!”
Bad Dems, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you...
It seems Indiana has just approved a $250 fine for their absent legislators starting Monday.
Go taze ‘em, Bro!
