In a radio interview on Monday, potential 2012 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee repeatedly claims that President Obama grew up in Kenya.
A spokesman for Huckabee later told CBS News that the former Arkansas governor misspoke.
In an interview on WOR's "The Steve Malzberg Show," Huckabee made reference to Mr. Obama's "having grown up in Kenya" and spoke of him growing up "with a Kenyan father and grandfather" - despite the fact that Mr. Obama grew up largely in Hawaii and barely knew his father at all.
In responding to Malzberg's question about whether "we deserve to know more about this man" and his origins, Huckabee responded that "I would love to know more."
"What I know is troubling enough," Huckabee said of the president. "And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American."
A spokesman for Huckabee later said the former governor "meant to say the President grew up in Indonesia."
In the interview, Huckabee also pointed to the fact that Mr. Obama in 2009 returned a bust of Winston Churchill to the British Embassy, describing the act as "a great insult" to the British. (He did not mention that the bust had been on loan.)
That is, when the English ended it (as much as they could) in Kenya and Mombasa, the Obama Clan lost its livelihood. The Luo were heavily involved with the Arabs in the slave trade on the wholesale end.
In Africa, the blackest of people can consider themselves "Arabs," because they are Muslims. Therefore they somehow feel "racially" superior to their equally black compatriots who are Christian, or animists.
This is the story behind the Sudanese Civil War. There is no physical difference between a northern Sudanese and a southern Sudanese. The same with the Luo in Kenya, who worked for centuries as slave catchers for Arab traders. But then the Masai consider themselves racially superior to the Kikuyu and the Luo (and us).
Hutu? Tutsi? They can tell each other apart. We can't. Every African country is rife with these tribal distinctions. And yes, there is an Arab admixture in the gene pool in those countries where the Arabs have traded for over 1,000 years, just as there is in Saudi Arabia, where Arabs have intermarried with their African slaves for millenia. They also intermarried with their white slaves from Europe. Put a suit and a haircut on an African, a Saudi, a Kenyan and you are not going to be able to track any of them them through Penn Station in the US.
IMHO, this tracing of the Obama/Soetoro racial gene pool is interesting bar talk, but a distraction.
PS: I have lived and worked in East Africa and the ME. It is never wise to pursue a discussion of this nature with the natives!

Huckabee made a mistake. He obviously is as ignorant of the real issue here just like you are. So I find it ironic as all heck that you in YOUR ignorance of the facts and issues at stake is calling Huckabee a racist and the rest of your insults.

Thanks for quoting the apt sections of the koran. A good muslim is one who kills infidels. A bad one is anyone who refuses to kill them. It’s extremely difficult-to-the-point-of-impossible, incidentally, for ordinary muslims to be sure of getting their perpetual virgins and beautiful young boys. One of the only known ways to be certain is to die in the act of killing infidels.
