D) All of the above.......
Everything causes cancer......
As was done with tobacco the drum beat against soft drinks is starting. Obesity, high blood pressure and soon some genius will develop the concept of “second hand diabetes” or some such nonsense. This will allow the foul and corrupt political class to impose tax and fees of $7.50/can.
There was a time when I easily drank 12 Pepsi’s a day. Now I am down to 4-6 a day. Age 49 and no high blood pressure or colesterol,
57, 3 Cokes a day, I hate water. No high blood pressure.
I dare her to try to touch my sweet tea!
They’re looking for something to scare people over and to tax.
It makes me wonder if they have some kind of program set to a timer to come up with something new to keep people in a state of constant fear.
They TRIED to tax candy and soda in WA state, but the initiative prevented it. Is there ANYTHING that liberals “don’t like” that they don’t try to ban? And the left always screams about the “religious right” forcing its positions on the populace. Last time I checked, my priest didn’t pass a law forbidding me from eating trans fats or smoking in a park, buying an incandescent lightbulb, or buying my kid a happy meal with a toy.
Nah, our tax dollars went to fund A.C.O.R.N.
Yes, all these studies are absurd. For some of these, they send people a questionnaire once a year and ask them to write down what they ate and drank. How many people can even remotely remember what they consumed over the course of a year, and how many just lie or guess?
My dad was in one of these studies, and when he was older I helped him fill in his answers. I knew that many of his responses were wrong, and I have never trusted one of these silly studies since.
It’s the next government money grab. Check for the trademarked phrase “sugary soft drinks.” This is the focus group tested term that will be parroted ad nauseum.
Well then it’s a good thing that I prefer beverages where most of the nasty sugar has been removed by yeast.
You get the gold star.
