Fox News says the United States has deployed some Marines and two amphibious ships to help with the evacuations in Libya.
The news comes one day after the U.S. moved naval and air forces closer to Libya and said all options were open, including patrols of the North African nation's skies to protect its citizens from their ruler, Muammar Qaddafi.
The Obama administration is demanding that Gadhafi relinquish power immediately.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned that Libya is at risk of collapsing into a "protracted civil war" amid increasingly violent clashes between the two sides.
On Tuesday, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice cast doubt on Qaddafi's sanity and ability to lead and said the international community will continue pressuring Qaddafi with embargos and sanctions until he steps down.

I am going to offer my opinion. I am just an everyday person but the way I see it....there is no way around NOT fighting the Muslims.
We are in a religious war, thats is it! The muslims and muslim countries are ruled by a religion that does not allow them to move forward in any way. They don’t believe in human rights, freedom, education...nothing. The world is moving forward and they cannot! Their only option is to bring everyone down to their level. They cannot rise to be modern societies, it is against their religion.
If we pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan and the Jews left Israel and we let them be does anyone really think they would be satisfied? If the west did not show them how to get the oil out of the ground they would still be riding around the desert on camels killing each other and they would not have an OPEC. My gut tells me that the ME is about to EXPLODE! And all those whining lib college kids will be put in a draft lottery! Like I said, just my opinion.
Relax mom. Most likely a prepositioned MEU that is already in theater......unless your son is serving in a MEU not likely he’ll be involved. This one looks like a quick grab of US citizens left behind because of the Obama’s botched evacuation plan......The Marines involved won’t have time to even get off a post card “wish you were here!”
The left won't say a thing as long as there is no chance of winning and Americans die needlessly.

Actually, I don’t think so. Libya isn’t even in the top 20 oil importers for the US in 2010
I think it would surprise a lot of people that the top country that we import oil from is Canada. The other top 20 countries in order are are Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Venezuela, Iraq, Angola, Brazil, Algeria, Colombia, Equador, Russia, Kuwait, United Kingdom and Argentina.
Please explain in detail.
I can think of a reason.
We don’t get our oil from them but the Italians and number of other European countries do. Thats why I’ve been saying all along let Europe handle this mess.
I don;t care what anyone says. It is as clear as the nose on obama’s two faces.
The middle east is imploding and muslims who believe that sharia is the only way are picking up the slack.
Obama is doing his best to help them along as well.
You can’t tell me that this was not orchestrated and helped along by the undocumented worker in the white house. He has been helping the terrorists and hindering our allies every step of the way.
