Rush just announced that he'd had so much response to his remarks concerning Trump last week that The Donald would be on today in the second hour to answer questions.

It would be helpful if Rush would play the phone call he got last week that started the whole “Trump” thing .

I just caught part of his remarks on Trump last week, so I can't explain everything that led to this. But I know he discussed Trump for a while and some listeners thought Rush failed to point out some of Trumps liberal ideas, or campaign contributions to libs, etc. Rush caught a lot of email flack so he asked Trump to come on and explain some of his views and past contributions to candidates.

......with everything going on out there today do ya think Rush could leave the Haney Project stuff till the end of hour 3?....

Sorry Frog, you are doomed to belong to a political party in which the leading philosophers are former disc jockeys. You be sure and call me, won't you, when some liberal person of your acquaintance says, "Gee Frog, I listened to Rush today, and now I am going to vote Conservative."

Rush is a master broadcaster. Probably the finest ever. But way back in the Jurassic 50's, we had our favorite disc jockeys, too, and we already knew the words to every song they were going to play. The choir already knows the hymns, but that does not diminish their pleasure in singing them.

For example, Rush is anti-illegal immigration now. But when it would really have been of help, he parroted the US Chamber of Commerce line, that it was, ".... The sign of a healthy economy..." and not to worry about it!

Oh BTW, call me when Rush does a show on "Constitutional Eligibility." Rush's job is to sell stuff on the radio to his niche audience, which he does very well. However, 4 million of them who voted for GW, were not to be inspired to get off their duffs and vote in the elections of 2008.

We've had far better candidates than Trump breach those subjects but the media chose to ignore them.

If we have plausible candidates openly discussing our one-sided trade with China, and illegal immigration and the perpetual amnesty campaign, then I don't know who those candidates are.

So will Rush ask him about giving aid and comfort to Gadhaffi when he let him pitch his tent on his property?

A guy called in complaining about Trump’s cpac speech and pointed out all the money he gives to dems and the fact several years ago he claimed to be a dem . Rush was rather soft on Trump and told the caller he would see if Trump would come on the show . Should be interesting :-)

The question would be: how much is there about Trump that isn't already known? He's been such a public figure for years - a celebrity businessman - that he's probably already been pretty thoroughly vetted.

True, but now we're discussing the primary campaigns for 2012. I'm not hearing it from any of the prospective Republicans for the coming primaries - except for Trump's possible candidacy.

Last week Rush talked about Trump for a while and many listeners accused him of going soft on Trump,

Went easy? He defended Trump's donations to libtard, commie democrats and damned if he ain't piling on with more defense of that crap this week. Trump even admitted to a close relationship with Rohm Emanuel and his brother and Rush's response was 'you're loyal to your friends'. I think I'm gonna puke....

Trump is a scum bag but I'm very ashamed of Rush at this point.

just listened to Trump on Rush. Trump filibustered the whole interview. He was saying the same stuff. I am great, I build great buildings, I am great. China is laughing at us. Same old stuff. I think Rush got 2 questions in and Trump just kept talking. Can’t believe Rush let him away with that....

The best I can say about Trump (English slang for "Efflatus*.")is that it's not a toupée. It's really his hair, man!

Could be a masterful plug job, But he's got this like baby-fine blonde hair that he insists on wearing in that ridiculous comb-over wave. Frankly, I am jealous.

Other than that hair, the guy is a total sleazoid whore-hound SOB who would sell his mother to an Arab, deliver, and offer post-sale service. As far as making those millions goes, no one is at all sure if he's added to the millions his father thoughtfully left him, or lost ground.

*Excuse me, but this being a family site, I felt a little cheesy just saying "fart." Apropos de Trump, "cheesy," c'est le mot juste.

Trump is definitely a self-promoter, but he made a remark about how the U.S. economy cannot perform well when oil is over $40 a barrel. I agree with that, cheap energy is the economic linchpin of America’s economy, when politicians strut around talking about “green” (expensive)energy, that’s just a nice way of saying that they want no economic growth.

*** So why did ‘Republican’ Donald Trump Donate $50K to Democrat uber-liberal Rahm Emanuel’s mayoral campaign? ***

Because 'the Donald' has a HUGH Hi-Rise in Chicago, on Wabash Ave, 1 block west of Michigan Avenue aka: 'The Mag Mile', and Mayor Rahm's City Building Inspectors could make like miserable for him.

Even though 'Trump Tower' is completed there's still City Elevator Inspectors, Health Dept Inspectors for any Commercial Kitchens, Garbage Disposal, Stairway Access, Parking, etc, etc, etc. And Chicago Bldg Inspectors are NOT the sharpest of people (surprise) and even getting a bogus violation notice straightened out is a pain in the ___.

So his donation is like taking Preemptive Action ;-)

All big Companies & Corps that do business in Chicago donate to the RATS, including 'right wing' Republicans. It's the 'cost of doing business' (legal graft).

I agree with that, cheap energy is the economic linchpin of America’s economy,

I also agree with that, but the crude price the US economy absorbs without disruption might now be closer to $60 per barrel. But there definitely is that level where energy costs begin to significantly increase the cost of practically every good and most services in the US.

It's insane that this country has failed to develop its own abundant energy resources since the Arab embargoes of the 1970s. And the blame goes to both parties, perhaps more to the Dims, but GHWB put more offshore areas under moratoriums than any other president, and Slick and W just continued his policies (until the final two years of W's terms). And the Dims have shot down several attempts to open ANWR and other areas of Alaska.

Did you catch the woman caller that ranted about Trump to Rush? Rush said, “I can’t disagree with you”. She laid in on the line and said that Trump was in bed with the emanual brothers and that he had no loyalty to anything but himself... Rush praised Trump’s business experience and economic knowledge... but he agreed with every rant this woman had about Trump. I would not vote at all, if my only choice were Trump.
